Regarding the installation of Windows 7 upgrade to Windows 11 system, we can do it in two ways: the first is to install Windows 8 directly in Windows 7, and the second is to install Windows 7 upgrade to Windows 11 system by making a physical media system disk. Since Windows 8 is currently a consumer preview version, we do not recommend ordinary users to install Windows 7 directly to upgrade to Windows 11 system through the first method. Since this is the case, dual system becomes the preferred way for us to experience Windows 8.

The next tutorial is to tell our beginners how to install two systems in one computer, so that they can keep the stability of the original system and experience the features of the new Windows 7 to Windows 11 system, why not?

Step 1: Prepare a separate partition for the new system

If you just want to experience the Win8 system, then installing dual system is a good way, in other words, install the new system in a separate partition. Before installing the system we need to repartition the local hard drive to get the space needed for the installation. There are many ways to partition your hard drive and you can use some hard drive management software to do it, but if you are a Windows 7 system user, it will be easier to operate the hard drive partition without having to choose other software.

Note: This paragraph can be skipped if you only install a new system and do not keep your existing one.

First, right mouse click on Computer and then select Manage, which will take you to this interface of Computer Management.

The management applications in Windows 7 are already quite intelligent and advanced, and all system-level operations work well. Next, click into Disk Management in the Computer Management interface, after which we will be able to see the details of the entire hard disk partition.

Next, we need to free up some hard disk space for the new system, so if you already have a free partition you can skip the following steps. Select a partition with more free capacity, right click on it and select Compressed Volume, then enter the required capacity size, the recommended capacity is 20GB or more, and more than 20480MB of hard disk space. (Note: Try not to select the system partition)

After compressing the volume a new partition will be formed on the side of the original partition, next format this partition. Right-click on the new partition and select New Simple Volume, select the drive number you want in the Assign Drive Number and Path step (e.g. E drive), and then go all the way to the next step.

After this series of steps, the partition dedicated to the new system installation is ready. Next we can upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 11 operating system into this hard drive partition, so that it will not overwrite the original system, but can experience the fun of the new system, and easy for users to delete.

Note that if this dialog box appears when the last new partition is created, be sure to select No, otherwise your hard drive will be tragic. The solution is to use hard drive management software to convert this partition into a logical partition, so that the prompt to convert the basic disk into a dynamic disk does not appear. Remember, dynamic disks are not suitable for general users, do not convert!

Step 2: Use the software to write the image to the USB drive

Before using a USB flash drive to install Windows 7 to Windows 11, we need to prepare some tools to create a system installation disk. The first is to prepare the capacity of 4GB or more USB flash drive (4GB can be), then the Windows 7 upgrade to Windows 11 system image file, followed by the available burning software, here we use UltraISO burning software to burn the system.

First we open UltraISO software, and then click File - Open - select Windows 7 upgrade to Windows11 system image file, confirm open to see the entire image within the software interface all file information. After confirming that the files are correct, continue with our installation steps.

Next, start creating the system installation disk by clicking on Boot - Write Hard Disk Image.

After entering the burning interface, select the writeable USB drive drive letter in the hard drive section, confirm that it is correct and then click write and wait for some time.

After about ten minutes of waiting, the entire installation file will be saved in the USB drive, and we can then use this USB drive to install the Windows 8 operating system. In fact, the USB flash drive system is similar to the CD-ROM system, except that the physical media used is different and the writing speed is also different. For notebooks like Ultrabooks that are not equipped with optical drives, the value of installing the operating system on a USB drive is well reflected.

Finally, the first step to install Windows 7 to Windows 11 operating system is to power on the computer and click on the keyboard "F12 key" before entering the system boot (different models of computers have different keys, some are "F11 ", "F1" and so on) to enter the boot manager, then select the U disk with the system files, click to enter the operating system installation interface.
